Pumpkin Season Is In Full Swing

I was finally able to catch a minute and do something fun with my boyfriend, Nick. I think the two of us honestly needed it between school and other obligations, we are both pretty stressed out. Needless to say I had the BEST time.

It was a little crazy being the week before Halloween but the place we picked really hit the spot. We didn’t even take the hay ride up to the corn-maze/pumpkin patch. The nursery was big enough and had plenty to offer. There were a bunch of animals too so I was content.

I wanted to try the farm’s hot apple cider. I feel like cider is hit or miss wherever you go. It was so cold and windy outside that after picking out our pumpkins and loading them in Nick’s truck, we both needed something to warm us up. We walked back to the farm’s store. I got a fresh apple, Nick got some cider doughnuts, and we both waited patiently for a fresh batch of hot apple cider to be brewed. I was obsessed. It had to have been the best cider I have ever had.

The outfit I wore fit the occasion perfectly. It was nice and chilly, although the wind had me wishing I had brought a coat with me I was still comfortable. I curled my hair which is a look I don’t normally do. I have been trying to switch things up lately and it held up perfectly considering the circumstances, I was surprised!

I wore a basic fall look, just some jeans and a navy sweater. I added a plaid puffer vest to give the look a nice pop of color it needed. I also wore my duck boots as it was muddy from the rain we had the night before. I would do it all over again in a heart-beat. I had so much fun. I am on a mission to create my own, personal, pumpkin patch outside! I can’t wait to carve these pumpkins!

My Week in Outfits!

Finally, the first ‘my week in outfits’ is up and running.  I am so excited to share my everyday style with all of you. The fall we have had so far has definitely been a strange one. It was 85 degrees out today and last week was significantly colder. I went from layering up last week to breaking out some summer outfits for the past few days. These outfits are for a more colder, brisk, fall day. Not all of these items are brand new but if there is one thing I have learned about shopping is that there is always a current, similar version out somewhere.

A lot of my style is considered to be made up of more timeless pieces. I enjoy the things I opt for in my closet very much. I always feel put together and feminine. My styles never feel outdated at all, thats the good thing about a preppy style. I am someone who really hates to dress down regardless of what I am doing. I love clothes and why waste your life in sweats? It just makes getting through any part of your day a little better. Look good, feel good, am i right?

I will try to link items/similar items for all of you down below!

For the first outfit I paired a Lilly dress that I got from the After Party Sale this summer with riding boots. This was one of the outfits that I needed to get out of my system. Since getting colder I have definitely been missing my Lilly Pulitzer pieces.

This next outfit was on one of my lazier days when I needed to get out the door and go for the day. It is such an easy outfit to just throw on some black jeans and a sweater with flats, throw your hair in a bun and go! I recommend black jeans verses black leggings just because it gives you a look that is more put together. I paired it with some pearl earrings and a simple watch on my wrist to dress it up even more.

For this next outfit I took advantage of the fact that it is finally popover season! I layered the look up with a puffer vest and some riding boots. I have a side braid pony tail in my hair which is still simple but very cute!

On one of the chillier days I really layered up because I had a long day at school. I put a plain white button down from J. Crew under a fair isle sweater. I threw a red puffer vest on and was warm enough both indoors and out.

An Apple a Day

I am still working out the details to how I am going to go about taking weekly pictures of my favorite outfits. I am not the biggest fan of taking selfies each morning but I am warming up to the idea. I wish I had a personal photographer to follow me around each day lol I am sure I’ll figure something out.

Anyway this outfit is definitely a favorite of mine for fall. it is such a staple for everyday. Just swap out the hunter boots with riding boots or even flats/loafers depending on the day’s activities and you are good to go. I wore this outfit as I was attempting to go apple picking one day with my boyfriend, Nick.  We tried twice but needless to say we picked the wrong farm to go to. The farm we went to was crazy busy when we tried to go on a Sunday. We decided to turn around and try again another time. Simple solution: go again on a weekday and yup, the hay ride up to the apple farm was closed. It was a little disappointing since Nick and I had so much fun apple picking last year but there’s always next year!

We still stopped by the store on site and bought a bucket each of our favorite kind of apples and some doughnuts too! I am hoping for better luck while pumpkin picking this October. Fingers crossed.

Heres a little throwback to apple picking last year with Nick! Our friends have a gopro and we had some fun playing around with it.
