So to be honest this is the first year I have actually paid attention and had the opportunity to shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. I usually forget or don’t care that much about what they have. I am a Nordstrom card holder so I was granted early access to the sale and I don’t know, for some reason this year I have been loving the selection.
I put together a few outfits for fall with the pieces I did pick out and I will leave everything linked below.
Some of my favorite basics in the sale are s’well bottles. This was a big one for me. I use a s’well almost everyday so I am definitely using this opportunity to stock up. I have been loving the smaller 9 oz. size as it fits so perfectly in my purse/tote and they only come out to $15!!!! That’s such a great price. They also had a lot of cute shoes for fall ranging from booties to tennis shoes/trainers. I then had a chance to pick up a Nordstrom basic tee, everyone seemed to be talking about what high quality they are and they were right. I am obsessed with this tee, it is so flattering on.
I got one of the BP cardigans which are super comfortable (btw). I love the longer look with jeans and a tee in the fall. You could easily throw on any shoe and the look will still look so timeless and chic. Another sweater I got was this gray bell sleeve sweater. I saw one of my favorite bloggers post it in her try on haul and I immediately went for it. I can’t wait to style it for y’all soon!
Now this was a hard section for me. Everything was just so cute. I almost got the expandable long champ tote (linked below) because its such a great price but I have so many long champ totes already that I don’t know if its really worth it. I did however get this sole society bag! I kept reaching for it during my shopping trips…yes trips… and I couldn’t give it the green light. I have been seeing it everywhere on social media and knew that It would be a great piece to have. I have been using it already and its amazing. It fits EVERYTHING. I am obsessed.
To justify this last purchase, I have wanted a pair of Tory Burch riding boots my entire life LOL. I actually like them this year as they have a classic and basic logo to them that I had to at least try them on. Now what happens next I am going to blame on my boyfriend, Nick. He talked me into buying them. My boyfriend…who hates shopping…told me I needed them. Nows the time to buy them, he said so in agreement I finally pulled the trigger. The whole way home he asked me if I regret the purchase and honestly, I didn’t one bit. Riding boots are something I wear every day in the fall and winter time. These are going to last me years and I got them at such a great price!
So thats a wrap…I hope…I am excited for my new wardrobe pieces and I think I am going to hang up my shopping shoes for a while.
I’d love to know what you picked up from the sale so feel free to leave a comment down below! Happy Nordstrom Sale!
If you follow me on social media you know I attended the Victory Cup Farm Bash over the weekend in Patterson, NY. I was the winner of a giveaway on Instagram through The Richmond Prepster’s Blog. I was gifted two VIP Golden Mallet tickets to the event and I was thrilled to attend.
I have been to horse races in the past but never a polo match so I was excited to see what it was all about. There were many sponsors at the event so there was lots to do aside from watching polo. My boyfriend, Nick was super excited about the car show that was being held across the field. He’s super into cars so I was happy he got to see some cool ones.
I think my favorite part of the event was getting to pet the horses in-between matches. Horses are such beautiful animals. There were also a lot of vendors selling all your derby/preppy essentials. Among them were big derby hats, woven belts, and my favorite, the Zach Ryan Clothing Booth. I picked up one of his super cute solids tees as seen in my Instagram: here. Stay tuned to see how I styled this cute tee soon!
I met some pretty cool people at the event and I was so grateful for the experience. I was a little out of my comfort zone because there were so many of my favorite bloggers/entrepreneurs attending that I felt a little overwhelmed but everyone I met was super kind and really motivating. They really inspired me to keep at this whole blogging thing if its something I am really passionate about and to not be so hard on myself. Patience is key. I am grateful for the new friendships that came out of this weekend and I am excited to see where I’ll be for next year’s farm bash. It was truly the best party of summer!

These shorts have been on my J.Crew wishlist for a while now. They are perfect for tucking in tee’s which is a go-to outfit for me in the summer. If you ever want to feel more put together while wearing a basic shorts-and-tee outfit, tuck in your shirt and wear a belt if necessary.
I got this top from J.Crew as well. At first I wasn’t sure about it. I saw a bunch of bloggers talking about it so I decided to try it for myself. I think what sold me is the fact that its actually a t-shirt not a blouse. As soon as I picked it up I was so happy. I now have it in both white and navy.
I accessorized the look white white accents. A white necklace from Kendra Scott along with my white Jack Rogers and a white crossbody bag from Michael Kors. The white brightened up the look and made it look like a more summer-y look. I am not one to wear much dark clothing in the summer time but Navy is my black. The color combination looked great together.
What I love about this look is that you can recreate it with any scrunchy linen short and a tee. You can make it more casual for a normal day or spruce it up by mixing patterns or wearing a blouse instead!
I feel like J.Crew has been doing such a great job lately. Their pieces are so gorgeous. Even J. Crew Factory has such cute styles for summer. Well done, J. Crew.
Hello everyone! Today were going to talk about something that strays away from the usual outfit post/life update. These are things that have been inspiring me and helping me to have an organized summer and I hope these tips motivate you as well. Summer can be a trying time whether you are a student on break from school or an adult trying to grasp as much daylight as physically possible in-between working. The key is to stay productive. I know how hard that can be, summer is the season for forgetting what day it is and being lazy. Its hard not to get lost and let the season pass you by. Here’s a few minor things you can incorporate into your daily routine to help make the most of this great time of year.
- Make your bed each morning: I do this anyway (most days) I find that when I don’t I usually decide to lay in it all day. Once I make the bed in the morning I feel so much better about tackling the day and making the most out of my time. Its as if it sets me free and makes me feel organized and motivated to get things done.
- Set a small goal each day: Summer can come with a lot of time off/down time. It is important to make sure that you utilize that extra time to the fullest. A great way to keep yourself on track is to strive to achieve something you would like to get done each day. A great way to do this is to keep a running to-do list of all the things you have been meaning to do but the hustle and bustle of the rest of the year has prevented you from completing. I always feel like having a list is more incentive to get things done because who doesn’t LOVE to cross something off a to-do list, am I right?
- Play sports: There is something about going outside and having a catch or heading down to the town’s track/tennis courts to have a fun time with family or friends. It is a way to get a workout in while doing something different. I find that it keeps things interesting when you switch things up like this. Plus its so much fun, I have been loving taking full advantage of the weather even if its just a catch outside after dinner, with my boyfriend. Any excuse to be outside works for me!
- Form Healthy Habits (ex. go to the gym, read/listen to a book): Consistency is key with this one. Its important to keep at your weekly routine. Things like going to the gym and reading really cleanse your body physically and mentally. They keep you healthy. I just recently finished a show on Netflix so now I am taking a break from TV. I feel so much more productive during my day. I hook my iPad up to my speaker and listen to an audio book while I lounge around in my room. It’s a great way to unwind.
- Bake/Make a treat: One thing that is on my to-do list for next week is to take the time to make more treats for myself. Whether it be a batch of brownies or a special homemade juice that you love, its always nice being able to have a little treat prepared for yourself during the week. Next week I am making homemade popsicles to try out the trend. Its a great, healthier alternative to ice cream and I can’t wait to show y’all how they turn out. Definitely stay tuned for that!
- (last but not least…) Have a morning and nighttime routine: Keeping at these routines will help you stay on track during the summertime. They start and end your day, in a healthy way, that incorporates the things you view as important to you into your daily routine.
I hope you were able to take something along with you on your journey from today’s post. I have been so motivated to give myself a healthy routine now that I have less structure as I have finished college. These small changes make all the difference whether you are someone who works full-time or is enjoying summer break. I find that these little changes that I strive to make each day make all the difference when it comes to my mood and how much I accomplish. Summer is too beautiful to be passed by. Make the most of the time you have!
Good Morning, everyone! I hope everyone had a great holiday weekend and is looking forward to the shortened work week ahead. Only three more days till the weekend… you got this.
There is something about the fourth of July that I love. I consider myself to be a very patriotic person, I truly love this country we live in and have the utmost respect for the men and women (past, present, and future) who put their lives on the line for us each day.
I had a very low-key weekend. Nick and I spent most of our time running errands, spending time with our families, and organizing things. We watched the fireworks in my town on Saturday night which is something that is kinda special for us. I think part of the reason why we enjoy them so much is at the end of our very first date we found ourselves watching some fireworks in his town after a really great day with some old friends. Certainly a day i’ll never forget. On Sunday we had some time with his family over dinner. Had a nice meal and got to play with Otis, their new puppy! Monday, we originally had plans to go hang out at a bar during the day and then a BBQ with my family at night but we actually found ourselves cleaning up the deck furniture with my dad instead. All our hard work yesterday paid off though because it ended up being something different to enjoy. When I was younger my sisters and I never really paid attention outside so no one was utilizing this great space we have, now that its all cleaned up, I am looking forward to many more nights out there.
Of course the weekend was spent in lots of red, white, and blue. All holiday’s aside, I truly love that color combination to begin with. Its so timeless. I had lots of fun this weekend taking pictures on my new phone. I upgraded to the iPhone 7 Plus and it was seriously such a great decision. The camera was everything I have been dreaming of. I normally don’t really care about the newest phone out etc. but I have been waiting for the chance to get my hands on this one. I am extremely happy with my decision. Not having to lug a huge camera around is kinda nice lol.
I’ve been wearing red, white, and blue since Friday rolled around. On my more casual days it was shorts and a cute tee with my Jacks and dressed up in a dress and jacks on my more dressy days. I’ve been experimenting with curling my hair. I am determined to master it so I can have a new go-to hairstyle and I have finally gotten it down. My goal for the fourth this year was to look as though I stepped out of a J.Crew catalog and I was pretty happy with my and Nick’s outfit choices. Ill be sure to have everything linked for you below so you can check out some of the pieces that I wore throughout the weekend!
I hope everyone had a great holiday again and I’d love to hear all about it. Feel free to let me know down in the comments below.
I was shopping earlier in the week (I know, I have to stop LOL) but I walked into J.Crew and saw this gingham dress that I have had my eye on for a while now and it was very marked down. I had to get it, I immediately thought it was perfect to wear for the fourth this year! I think for me it came out to around $24. They were having a 50% off sale promotion going on at the time. Anyway, I highly suggest that you see if its still available at your local store because it is just the most flattering on.
I had so much fun taking pictures for this outfit. I just loved twirling around in my dress, I think dresses have got to be one of my favorite aspects of summer. They’re so easy to just throw on and go, as well as super cute which I love. I paired my dress with some red and white jacks to complete the color scheme and am ready to have some fun tomorrow!
I hope everyone is having fun this holiday weekend but still remembers and honors the importance of this day. Its much more than the shopping, the BBQ’s, beach days, and parties. It’s our birthday, America. Honor and remember those who fought for our independence and still do, to this day!
