Hello everyone! Today were going to talk about something that strays away from the usual outfit post/life update. These are things that have been inspiring me and helping me to have an organized summer and I hope these tips motivate you as well. Summer can be a trying time whether you are a student on break from school or an adult trying to grasp as much daylight as physically possible in-between working. The key is to stay productive. I know how hard that can be, summer is the season for forgetting what day it is and being lazy. Its hard not to get lost and let the season pass you by. Here’s a few minor things you can incorporate into your daily routine to help make the most of this great time of year.
- Make your bed each morning: I do this anyway (most days) I find that when I don’t I usually decide to lay in it all day. Once I make the bed in the morning I feel so much better about tackling the day and making the most out of my time. Its as if it sets me free and makes me feel organized and motivated to get things done.
- Set a small goal each day: Summer can come with a lot of time off/down time. It is important to make sure that you utilize that extra time to the fullest. A great way to keep yourself on track is to strive to achieve something you would like to get done each day. A great way to do this is to keep a running to-do list of all the things you have been meaning to do but the hustle and bustle of the rest of the year has prevented you from completing. I always feel like having a list is more incentive to get things done because who doesn’t LOVE to cross something off a to-do list, am I right?
- Play sports: There is something about going outside and having a catch or heading down to the town’s track/tennis courts to have a fun time with family or friends. It is a way to get a workout in while doing something different. I find that it keeps things interesting when you switch things up like this. Plus its so much fun, I have been loving taking full advantage of the weather even if its just a catch outside after dinner, with my boyfriend. Any excuse to be outside works for me!
- Form Healthy Habits (ex. go to the gym, read/listen to a book): Consistency is key with this one. Its important to keep at your weekly routine. Things like going to the gym and reading really cleanse your body physically and mentally. They keep you healthy. I just recently finished a show on Netflix so now I am taking a break from TV. I feel so much more productive during my day. I hook my iPad up to my speaker and listen to an audio book while I lounge around in my room. It’s a great way to unwind.
- Bake/Make a treat: One thing that is on my to-do list for next week is to take the time to make more treats for myself. Whether it be a batch of brownies or a special homemade juice that you love, its always nice being able to have a little treat prepared for yourself during the week. Next week I am making homemade popsicles to try out the trend. Its a great, healthier alternative to ice cream and I can’t wait to show y’all how they turn out. Definitely stay tuned for that!
- (last but not least…) Have a morning and nighttime routine: Keeping at these routines will help you stay on track during the summertime. They start and end your day, in a healthy way, that incorporates the things you view as important to you into your daily routine.
I hope you were able to take something along with you on your journey from today’s post. I have been so motivated to give myself a healthy routine now that I have less structure as I have finished college. These small changes make all the difference whether you are someone who works full-time or is enjoying summer break. I find that these little changes that I strive to make each day make all the difference when it comes to my mood and how much I accomplish. Summer is too beautiful to be passed by. Make the most of the time you have!
Good Morning, everyone! I hope everyone had a great holiday weekend and is looking forward to the shortened work week ahead. Only three more days till the weekend… you got this.
There is something about the fourth of July that I love. I consider myself to be a very patriotic person, I truly love this country we live in and have the utmost respect for the men and women (past, present, and future) who put their lives on the line for us each day.
I had a very low-key weekend. Nick and I spent most of our time running errands, spending time with our families, and organizing things. We watched the fireworks in my town on Saturday night which is something that is kinda special for us. I think part of the reason why we enjoy them so much is at the end of our very first date we found ourselves watching some fireworks in his town after a really great day with some old friends. Certainly a day i’ll never forget. On Sunday we had some time with his family over dinner. Had a nice meal and got to play with Otis, their new puppy! Monday, we originally had plans to go hang out at a bar during the day and then a BBQ with my family at night but we actually found ourselves cleaning up the deck furniture with my dad instead. All our hard work yesterday paid off though because it ended up being something different to enjoy. When I was younger my sisters and I never really paid attention outside so no one was utilizing this great space we have, now that its all cleaned up, I am looking forward to many more nights out there.
Of course the weekend was spent in lots of red, white, and blue. All holiday’s aside, I truly love that color combination to begin with. Its so timeless. I had lots of fun this weekend taking pictures on my new phone. I upgraded to the iPhone 7 Plus and it was seriously such a great decision. The camera was everything I have been dreaming of. I normally don’t really care about the newest phone out etc. but I have been waiting for the chance to get my hands on this one. I am extremely happy with my decision. Not having to lug a huge camera around is kinda nice lol.
I’ve been wearing red, white, and blue since Friday rolled around. On my more casual days it was shorts and a cute tee with my Jacks and dressed up in a dress and jacks on my more dressy days. I’ve been experimenting with curling my hair. I am determined to master it so I can have a new go-to hairstyle and I have finally gotten it down. My goal for the fourth this year was to look as though I stepped out of a J.Crew catalog and I was pretty happy with my and Nick’s outfit choices. Ill be sure to have everything linked for you below so you can check out some of the pieces that I wore throughout the weekend!
I hope everyone had a great holiday again and I’d love to hear all about it. Feel free to let me know down in the comments below.
I was shopping earlier in the week (I know, I have to stop LOL) but I walked into J.Crew and saw this gingham dress that I have had my eye on for a while now and it was very marked down. I had to get it, I immediately thought it was perfect to wear for the fourth this year! I think for me it came out to around $24. They were having a 50% off sale promotion going on at the time. Anyway, I highly suggest that you see if its still available at your local store because it is just the most flattering on.
I had so much fun taking pictures for this outfit. I just loved twirling around in my dress, I think dresses have got to be one of my favorite aspects of summer. They’re so easy to just throw on and go, as well as super cute which I love. I paired my dress with some red and white jacks to complete the color scheme and am ready to have some fun tomorrow!
I hope everyone is having fun this holiday weekend but still remembers and honors the importance of this day. Its much more than the shopping, the BBQ’s, beach days, and parties. It’s our birthday, America. Honor and remember those who fought for our independence and still do, to this day!

Good Morning Lovelies!
Hope everyone is having a great week so far. I am enjoying the warm weather so much!
One of the things I am trying to do more of is have a consistency of long and short pieces in my outfits. I find that I am great when it comes to picking out pieces for a hot summer as well as during the winter but the fall/spring are always more of a challenge for me. Its that in between, sometimes hot, sometimes cold, both in one day kinda weather that can get pretty confusing. The trick is to wear one long piece with one short piece to keep you comfortable throughout the day. This spring, for me, is mixing shorts with long sleeve tops. and the fall incorporates more pant options.
Even though its mid June and tomorrow is the official first day of summer, we have had more colder days than hot this season. It is said that should change soon but either way, a balance in your clothes makes for great options of summer outfits if you’re spending most of your day indoors!
This outfit is completely Vineyard Vines. I got this outfit last summer. I popped into VV and saw all the girls wearing something similar and I had to have this color combination. I thought an outfit like this was a staple for the spring and summertime on colder days/nights but then as the summer came and went, I never reached for it in my closet. I was lazy. It is so easy to just throw on a dress or romper and some sandals and go. An outfit like this takes more planning. The details of your day, whether or not your spending your day mostly outside or not determines if you can wear an outfit like this. This season I tried to be more organized when it came to my spring outfits. Sure enough, I reached for it!
An oxford button down and some shorts are perfect as a classic outfit in your wardrobe. It has a timeless look that can be recreated in various different color and brand combinations!
I had to pop on here to tell you that Lilly Pulitzer’s pop up print for the summer is Lobstah Roll. I couldn’t be more excited. As soon as I got the news I ran to my local Lilly store and picked up the Captain Popover. I wasn’t aware of Lilly when they had their most popular prints a while back so I have been so lucky to get such great luck finding items I love from their pop up prints collections throughout the past few years.
I instantly ran home to style an outfit with my new piece of Lilly. I paired the popover with my pink Lilly buttercup shorts (similar: here) and some pink and gold Jacks. Such a simple outfit yet SO much fun to wear!! I know this print is gonna go fast so be sure to check out the collection before its gone.
I am a firm believer in everything the company Lilly Pulitzer stands for. Most of my closet is Lilly because I was so blessed to get the opportunity to work there two years back. The colors just make every outfit look happy and fun. Winter or summer, Lilly is a staple in my closet.
I love the spring and summer time because I can just throw on a dress, some cute sandals to go with it and I am out the door. Dresses are my go-to in the warmer months, I just feel more comfortable in them.
I got this dress from J.Crew Factory last summer. Their shift dresses are always super cute and I love stripes so when I saw this one I had to have it. I pulled it out again this summer when I got this crossbody bag from Talbots. This bag is one of the cutest straw bags I have ever seen. They are such a trend this season and I was happy about that because I already had a few but I was so excited to add this one to my closet. I love the pop of color from the leather straps but the aspect of the bag that sold me was the gingham interior! It just seemed as though it was a match made in heaven.
An outfit like this is so versatile, you can wear it with flat sandals for a casual day or some wedges if you are heading into the office. I accessorized with some pearl drop earrings from bauble bar. These earrings are heavy the first time you wear them but like a shoe, once you break them in they don’t bother you anymore. I love these earrings. The drop earrings are one of my favorite trends this summer because I feel like they are such a staple piece that pulls any outfit together. Pearls are a staple of mine already so these were absolutely darling. I am so happy with them!
I have finally made my transition to working full-time and it is kicking my butt. Thankfully, we had a three-day weekend in observance for Memorial Day and I was over-joyed for the extra time to get things done around my house.
With this transition being so hard, it has really opened my eyes to just how much productivity matters. I went from having a lot of free-time to do all the things I need to get done to having almost no time at all. Needless to say I have been researching ways and downloading apps to keep myself in check. If you know me, you know that I get stressed out very easily. It is very important to figure out ways to keep my stress levels low.
One of those things being making time for the gym. I was no gym-bug to begin with but going to the gym was something that I was enjoying. I can’t let myself lose sight of that goal I set because I’m too tired all of a sudden. Not to mention the importance of physical activity when working a 9-5 desk job. One of the goals through working on my productivity throughout the week is going to be making it to the gym at least twice a week, working my way up from there.
My favorite sports bra while working out is this one pictured from Victoria Secret. It is long enough to where you can wear it as a cropped top with leggings and has a high enough neck line that it is not too revealing. I loved it so much that when they went on sale I got all the colors I could find. I paired the outfit with my Gymshark Fit Leggings and I really love the look. I have worn this top with high waisted leggings as well and I like that look even more. I am not one who likes to show a lot of skin but these tops show the perfect amount!
I hope y’all are doing well with the goals you have set for yourselves in early 2017. Were just about at the half way mark, the perfect time to re-motivate yourselves and keep pushing towards your goals no matter what changes in life have occurred. Leave a comment below letting me know how your weekend was, I’d love to hear all about it!
If you follow me on Instagram, you know that I recently graduated college. It has been a long road for me because I didn’t finish in the normal four years. However, I ended up being extremely grateful for the extra time. It really gave me a chance to continue to learn about myself and what I wanted for my future.
When Jord Watches reached out to me a little over a month ago, I thought, what perfect timing! Not only was I extremely honored to work with this company, but I was able to relate to Jord’s present Mother’s Day/Graduation campaign on a personal level, as a graduate. I know I would love a timeless gift like this for my own graduation and with a huge thank you to Jord, I now have one.
I spent time learning about the product and I am genuinely impressed with the beautiful details of the time piece. It is such a unique watch and the trend seems to be taking over across social media. This company has beautiful watches for both men and women. I had loads of fun styling mine. I found that this watch went with any occasion. I wore mine in a beautiful sun-dress on a gorgeous day or just running around, doing my errands/attending classes for the day.
I have the Koa & Rose Gold, Cora Series and I absolutely love it. I have gotten so many compliments on it. It really is such a cool watch. The face is rose gold with beautiful swarovski crystal time markers and my favorite feature, an open back so you can see the beautiful make-up of the watch. My boyfriend, Nick was very jealous! I’ll definitely be back to shop around for him one day. Having my own Jord, I can attest to the quality of the piece and I believe it is something you can keep forever. And who doesn’t love the wood?! I love the look.
Jord Watches was kind enough to hold a contest for my readers that ends tonight at 11:59 PM. I know I have posted about it quite frequently already via instagram but there is still time to enter for the chance to win $100 gift code towards your own perfect time piece. It can’t hurt to enter as everyone who enters gets their own $25 gift code and I highly recommend that you take full advantage of this fun giveaway!!

I am officially hopping on to the OTS bandwagon. I think these types of tops look super flattering on and I can not wait to experiment more with this trend. I can’t believe its the beginning of May and we are still experiencing some cold days here, up north. I am not complaining just yet because my room is the only room in the house that gets hot in the summer for some reason and I have yet to set up my portable air conditioner but other than that at this point in the year I would like to go outside without some sort of jacket on. We’ll get there eventually I’m sure though…
For trying out this trend I went to my trusty place, Old Navy. I honestly wasn’t sure if I would like this top so I figured might as well not break the bank for something that might not fit me well. I was wrong and I absolutely love it! I just want to take a second and give some love and appreciation to Old Navy, job well done on some of your pieces this year. I know I have been enjoying them as well as so many others! They really up’d their quality and I am no longer scared to shop there as a result.
I paired my top with some blue jeans as its still breezier some days. I wore statement earrings from J.Crew Factory because with a top like this earrings are an essential piece that pull the outfit together. It gives the outfit a more dressed up/put together look. Finally for my heeled sandals, they are also from Old Navy. Decent price point and they’re my go-to right now because they’re such a comfortable heel.
I am super excited for summer to arrive. I think that OTS is so flattering and cute for the warmer months. I can’t wait to play around with this trend some more. It’s SO cute!!

I started my new job so I apologize for being MIA. I have so much going from now up until graduation so I will do my very best to keep everyone updated on whats currently going on in my life. I do have some exciting work coming to the blog as well that I can not wait to share with all of you.
One of the things I incorporated into my routine this year was working out. I have truly started to figure out more about myself through this process. I am a very anxious person so hitting the gym has become part of my relaxation routine. It is truly what gets me through my week.
I am taking my time learning different workouts and am just starting to get my bearings around a gym. This is only the beginning of my fitness journey but I am so grateful for the positive changes I have seen both mentally and physically thus far.
Part of working out comes with different work out outfits. And a huge thank you to one of my fitness role models, Whitney Simmons for getting me hooked on Gymshark. PSA: For those of you pondering whether or not you want to start your own fitness journey I highly suggest watching Whit. I didn’t even work out when I began watching her youtube videos and they changed my views on fitness. You don’t have to have the biggest muscles or lift huge weights in order to benefit from her videos. Working out is not a diet, its a lifestyle. Whatever your reasons behind hitting the gym are part of your own journey to living a healthy life.
For me, the gym isn’t really about my looks. I have a body that I love so its not about how much gain I can add to the booty. Its a place where I can relax. The turning point for me was going to gym when I had, had a really… bad… day…I suffer from chronic stomach issues as well as anxiety and I was not feeling well at all one day. I decided to go to the gym despite this. By the end of my workout I couldn’t describe how much better I felt. It was truly inspiring. So if you’re thinking of taking that first step at the gym give it a try!
But on to the outfit…
I am obsessed with gymshark. They are a pain in the butt when it comes to shipping and what not but their product are amazing. They don’t break the bank like most athletic wear and I love the trendy look of all the pieces. This Ribbon Crop Top is so cute!!! Its has a nice twist for a basic muscle tee. I paired it with these cool high waisted leggings from Victoria Secret and it showed just enough skin to feel as though you were still covered.
